Europe Tour (Day 3)

Sampai Seville pagi2 buta. Being backpackers, kami hanya freshen ourselves up di public wc, cuci muka, gosok gigi...hehehe. Ye, tidak mandi.

Seville is the artistic, cultural, and financial capital of southern Spain. It is the capital of Andalusia and of the province of Sevilla. Here, we visited Plaza Espana (used as a setting for Naboo in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, walaupun it was digitally modified. Gorgeous, y'all!), Parque de Maria Luisa, and the royal palace, Reales Alcazares. One word. CANTIK!

Tgh hari, hop on our train to Cordoba pula. Took us about 1 hour plus to get there. Ingat tak masa sekolah dulu ada belajar sejarah tentang Masjid Cordoba? I've always wanted to see this place. It's called Mezquita (Spanish for "mosque"), was at one time the second largest mosque in the world and is now a Roman Catholic cathedral. It's so beautiful, and yet so hideous. The sight almost made me weep.

Pergi dgn perasaan yg sedih melihat alterations yang dilakukan sewenang-wenangnya terhadap Masjid Cordoba, we had to catch our bus to Granada pula. Esok pagi2 nak beratur to get tics untuk melawat Alhambra (wooot!) coz online tics sudah kehabisan. Hotel di Granada adalah murah meriah! Peon got it thru last minute online booking, it was only 30 euros, orginally priced at 60. Double sharing, tv, bath en-suite, siap dgn bath tub. Spent the nite watching Real Madrid kick Barcelona's ass and win the Cup.

Europe Tour: Day 2

Mom made me promise her I'd go to Saint-Ouen, home to Paris's flea market, the most important concentration of antique dealers and second-hand furniture dealers in the world. So that's what we did that Saturday morning (the flea market's only held every Saturday, Sunday and Monday). Bought this gorgeous purple patchwork boots for only 7euros! huhuh...happiness. My first purchase in Europe!
Then it was a bit of a rush, so what happened that afternoon was a bit of a blur to me. Lots of running around Paris, that's for sure.
We were suppose to catch an Easyjet flight to Madrid at 3.40, and we've to check in 40 mins before waktu berlepas. Akan tetapi, nasib tidak menyebelahi kami. We...errrrm...got delayed. Uhuk. Sampai di Airport Paris Orly at 3.20, and they refused to let us in. Demmit. (seb baik tak berubah menjadi terrorist di saat itu).
What else can we do...the next Easyjet flight to Madrid adalah pagi berikutnya. Maka...kami terpaksa membeli saja tiket of the next flight to Madrid...Iberia! Huhuh...imagine this. Easyjet's like, AirAsia. Iberia's like, Malaysia Airlines. Posh lah kan utk backpackers seperti aku dan Peon.
Kami pun macam 2 orang jakun naik Iberia tu. Jakun gile, I kid u not. Peon, u know wut u did and I can't thank u enuff! And alas...sampai juga kami ke Madrid at around 7. :-D
Pegi beli last bus tics to Sevilla dulu, then jalan2 di Puerta Del Sol which is the heart of the city. This is in theory the starting point of all roads in Spain (they call it the 'zero kilometer'). Very touristy. For dinner had 3-cheese pizza, ya ampun sedap nak mati! Seriously, it was just pesto, tomato, olive and 3 types of yummilicious cheese. Wheuuw.
Midnite bus to Sevilla. 6 hours journey, tidur...!!

p/s: Kepada sesiapa yang berminat nak tahu nasib bag saya...Alhamdulillah, ia dijumpai semula! Al-kisah, ianya ditinggalkan di Malaysia. Huhuhuh...so it came by the next flight to Paris, and they sent it to Zeff's place coz I was already in Spain.
Yippeee...!!

Europe Tour (Day 1)

Depart from KL 14th June 2007, hampir jam 12 midnite. Sedikit cuak, this was going to be the longest flight I've ever boarded, almost 12 hours to get to Paris. Dah la sedikit sangat Malaysian around, dah la aku cewek travel sendiri. Namun harapan untuk bertemu lelaki Perancis kacak masih menggebu2 di hati sanubari. Yang kacak memang ramai, tapi melirik pun tidak ke arah aku. Mungkinkah kerana mereka racist? Mungkinkah kerana saya bertudung maka saya dianggap terrorist? Segala kemungkinan-kemungkinan ini mengocakkan kewarasan saya, maka saya memilih utk tidur saja.

Disebelah saya ada seorang gadis Perancis cantik (darn! I was hoping to seat beside a good looking French man, naturally) tapi Tuhan berkehendak yg lain, saya redha. Her name's Emily, very friendly, speaks fluent English, and she gave me a crash course on what to expect in France.

But she didn't prepare me dgn apa yang harus dilakukan bila bagasi hilang di airport. Dan itulah yang terjadi kepada saya. Saya membawa 2 bagasi, tapi cuma 1 yang keluar walaupun sehingga conveyor berhenti bergerak, saya masih termangu menunggu. Si*lan. Buat report, berdoa beg saya dijumpai seberapa pantas. Mujur bonda packingkan 2 beg, (ye, bonda yg packing kan) so essential items masih ada lagi. Tak terbayang if I've to purchase a whole new batch of clothes, dgn mata wang Euro. Boleh botak kepala dan bulu kaki.

Peon jemput di Airport Charles Du Gaulles. Jln2 carik wc, alih2 terserempak with a familiar face depan lift...Azzwaa, junior from SSP. Turned out she's on holiday in paris as well. Took RER (somewhat like our komuter system here, tapi double decker! Hahaha...imagine that!) to Peon friend's place where we gonna stay while in Paris. Taruk2 barang, mandi2, keluar balik to explore Paris. Our first stop...Eiffel Tower! Beribu batu jauhnya aku berjalan nak tgk menara besi ni. But the lift to the top bermasalah, so we didnt go up on that day, thot we'd do it later in my trip. Next stop, Notre Dame.
Notre Dame de Paris, often known simply as Notre Dame in English, is a Gothic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in Paris, France, with its main entrance to the west. It is still used as a Roman Catholic cathedral and is the seat of the Archbishop of Paris. Notre Dame de Paris is widely considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. It was restored and saved from destruction by Viollet-le-Duc, one of France's most famous architects. Notre Dame translates as "Our Lady" from French.
But before that we stopped at The Hôtel de Ville (French for "City Hall"), the building housing the City of Paris's administration. Basically, the mayor's office.

Had Chicken Kebab for lunch, while Peon had Couscous at this Arab kebab joint near Notre Dame.
Then we head to the The Louvre Museum (French: Musée du Louvre) which is the most visited and one of the oldest, largest, and most famous art galleries and museums in the world. It was previously a royal palace and holds some of the world's most famous works of art, among them, Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

The Louvre and many of its works of art are featured prominently in Dan Brown's novel, The Da Vinci Code and in the 2006 film adaptation. The Louvre is the main setting in the prologue and first few chapters of the book and parts of the movie.
On Friday, ppl under the age of 26 boleh masuk free! Diulang...FREE!
Maka kami pun berjalan lah dengan gembira sampai kaki sengal dan kejang, sampai museum dah nak tutup at 9. Since it was summer, pukul 9 masih terang benderang lagi. Pukul 10 baru mulai nak gelap.

Head back, rest. zzzzzzzzZZzzzzzZz....

He said...

"Why is it, yang I nak, selalu I tak dapat, yang I tak nak, banyak je yang datang...sigh"

And so I said,

"Good, rub it in. Rubbbb it in"

Isn't it always like that? And why do we keep going on in circles? Aku cinta kamu, dia cinta aku, tapi kamu cinta dia? Sangat pening.

Orang bilang, cintailah orang yang mencintai kita lebih dari kita mencintai dia. Dan kita akan bahagia.
Tapi...kalau cinta tak datang untuk orang itu, kena paksa diri ke?

And why, not wanting to settle with anything less than what we want, we choose to settle with nothing at all?

Doesn't seem to me that we're better off that way.

Aku lah arjunaaaaaaa~~~...yang mencari cinta~~~~!!!

Sudah kembali bernafas di bumi Malaysia.

Sigh.

I know I owe everyone a longggggggggg entry about my trip. And I will do so, siap dengan gambar2 and soundtrack dan seni kamera terunggul.

Tapi nanti dulu ya.

Masa seakan mencemburui kita.

Sangat, saya ulang...sangat, sangat...sibuk.
