Vacheron Constantin (VC) was founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron. This makes it the oldest watch manufacturer in the world with an uninterrupted history. Besides being a young businessman, Vacheron was also a talented craftsman. In 1770 his company created the first complication, and nine years later he designed the first engine-turned dials.
So, what about VC has something to do with Malaysia?
Vacheron Constantin released a watch with a Malaysia map on it! It's aptly named 'Vacheron Constantin Tribute to Great Explorers'.
And this beautiful timepiece can adorn your wrist at a mere cost of USD79,000. (yikess!!!)
VC also paid homage to our neighbour, Indonesia, when they released series of prestige watches with Indonesian traditional masks on it. Javanese mask and Lombok mask received the honor.
And this, my friends...is my personal favourite, Javanese Mask.
"Bewitcher, I observe the shapes of girls who pass, why eyebrows are like a bird ready to take wing and circle its prey, my moustache like a serpent ready to strike at the least sign of weakness of assent"
