Ini 'Baik' saya. Hahahaha...the term must be familiar to SSPians. To those who are unfamiliar, itu macam kakak/adik angkat la. Masa zaman saya di SSP, ada 'baik' dengan 'kawan', if I'm not mistaken.

This is taken from the comment box, komen Puan Peon untuk menjelaskan apa beza 'baik' dengan 'kawan':
"btw to non-sspian, "kawan" ni rendah sikit dari "baik" standardnye.. macam tunang n kawen la wakakak so ade juga org yg mula² "kawan" then upgrade to "baik".. err terbalik pun ada haha"

It's a funny story, how I got to know this lady. She was famous in school, qariah sekolah, pengawas, good student...everything that I was not. And my encounter with her started when she was on the way to surau, she had to pass in front of my dorm, and I bid her "Assalamualaikum". Time tu memang lah, junior kena bagi salam kat senior. Lama-lama dah jadi rutin, tiap kali dia lalu, mesti nak bagi salam. It became our game, siapa bagi salam dulu. Ye, sgt kanak-kanak. I was 14 then, she's 2 years older.

Lepas tu ada event apatah sumpah tak ingat, tapi budak2 form 2 kena buat persembahan senamrobik beramai-ramai. Siap kena prektis tiap petang. She was one of our coach. Eceh, coach :p Time prektis, mesti dia akan berdiri dekat saya. Then one day 2 seniors came to talk to me. Kurang lebih macam ni lah perbualan kami:
"awak, ada orang nak baik dengan awak"
"adalah, orangnya selalu perhatikan awak"

Macam ayat nak ajak kahwin, kan?

I can't remember exactly what happened next, if my memory hasn't failed me, lebih kurang seminggu kawan-kawan dia melobi, that I should 'baik' with this kakak yang selalu perhatikan saya. Hahaha. In the end I relented.

What happened next was so unexpected. Ramai gila her friends datang my dorm, nak tengok budak yang 'baik' with her. Orang semua terkejut, that she would 'baik' with a junior like me. So to have people barging into my dorm, terus melaung, "Yang mana satu Farina Jamal? Oh, ini???!! Seriously??"

See, I told you how she's such a good girl in school. Lepas tu kecik comel halus lemah lembut berbudi bahasa je. I'm the complete opposite. Kena chop kurang ajar dgn senior, pemalas, bising, pendek kata, toksahkan orang lain, saya pun pelik kenapa dia nak baik dgn saya plak?

Lepas tu macam orang 'baik-baik' lain juga, aktiviti-aktiviti biasa adalah seperti tengok wayang sama-sama (sebulan sekali biasa ada orang datang sekolah dengan projektor, pancarkan kat dinding basketball court. Maka berbaring-baringlah kami warga Seri Puteri diatas lantai BBcourt itu dengan beralaskan kain batik. Hahaha), pergi/balik prep sama-sama, pergi solat sama-sama (time ni memang anjakan paradigma. You see, dia PM Agama. So selalu jadi imam pun. Saya pulak selalu geng paling last pergi surau. Tapi sebab nak pergi solat sama2, merasa lah duduk sof depan, much to everyone's amusement)

Paling ingat masa Form 3, ada case yang menyebabkan warden mula nak ambil tahu pasal 'baik-baik' ni. Masa tu Cik Aisah, Ketua Warden tanya saya. Saya pun bagitau, saya 'baik' dengan dia. Ustazah Nor Einee was in that room with us too, and how they both laughed. Like, biar betik?! See? Warden pun found it hard to believe!

She became Penolong Ketua Pengawas, when she was in Form 5. Time ni best gila, selalu time dinner kat dewan makan pasang lagu nasyid. Tapi ada time, she would play KRU songs! Hahahaha...saya memang die hard fan KRU kott. Feeling special weh orang pasang lagu KRU khas untukku. Ecehhh!

Masa dia kahwin, sayalah jadi pengapit. How time flies!

In 2007, masa berpeluang ke Europe, spent some time with her in Newcastle. And how I was pampered! Dah la dia masak sedap, orang kata pergi Europe I might lose some weight, end up lagi berat adalah!

Why am I writing all this down now? Because it is her birthday today!

Happy birthday, dearest Kak Yatie!

On your birthday I wish you much pleasure and joy;
I hope all of your wishes come true.
May each hour and minute be filled with delight,
And your birthday be perfect for you!

*smiling from ear to ear*

So far, Allah has been mercifully granted me more than I asked for this year. And the good things just kept on coming, syukur Alhamdulillah!

New year, new post, new salary!

Just got promoted to Assistant Manager post here in kilang gula, the youngest ever CSR has seen. Eceh...at least I get to be youngest at something!

Mengandam business pun picking up speed, I've bookings for up to December (sumpah kadang tertanya-tanya, awalnya lah orang buat persiapan kahwin!)

Earlier this year, I said to some friends, "I've a feeling this is going to be a great year"

Looks like my prediction might come true, after all. InsyaAllah! :-)

Entry Tertunda: 2011 New Year's Celeb

She eats.

21 days into 2011.

How has it been for you guys so far this year? As for moi, Alhamdulillah life's been good. Despite a slight hiccup at the end of 2010 (mungkin boleh cakap BANYAK hiccups kot) life's taken a new stride, and I'm loving it!

For a start, here's where myself and my 3 companions are heading next weekend:

Mount Bromo, is an active volcano and part of the Tengger massif, in East Java, Indonesia. At 2,329 metres (7,641 ft) it is not the highest peak of the massif, but is the most well known. The massif area is one of the most visited tourist attractions in East Java, Indonesia. The volcano belongs to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The name of Bromo derived from Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu creator god.

Mount Bromo sits in the middle of a vast plain called the "Sea of Sand" (Javanese: Segara Wedi or Indonesian: Lautan Pasir), a protected nature reserve since 1919. The typical way to visit Mount Bromo is from the nearby mountain village of Cemoro Lawang. From there it is possible to walk to the volcano in about 45 minutes, but it is also possible to take an organised jeep tour, which includes a stop at the viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan (2,770 m or 9,088 ft) (Indonesian: Gunung Penanjakan). The best views from Mount Bromo to the Sand Sea below and the surrounding volcanoes are at sunrise. The viewpoint on Mount Penanjakan can also be reached on foot in about two hours.

Dah lamaaaaaaaaaaa teringin nak tengok Mount Bromo dengan mata sendiri. Trip dadakan, boleh dikatakan. Teman sekantor ajak ikut tour yang katanya murah. Memang murah pun, the price she was offered by the tour agency was half of the usual fare (ground arrangements only), maka tak fikir panjang saya terus setuju. Kemudian Ayu pun nak ikut. Then Soraya and one long lost friend, Lea, with whom we reconnected via twitter, pun terjun sama. Dah beli tiket beramai-ramai, tiba-tiba tour agency itu cakap they can't give us the initial price. Dem. I should have known, it was too good to be true!

Maka berbekal darah pahlawan dalam diri yang membuak-buak, saya tekad arrange sendiri bermula dari hotel, transportation, makan...and thanks to a friend's help, managed to keep everything under budget, Alhamdulillah!

So yeah, updates setelah kepulangan kami nanti ya!

Take the worst situations imaginable
and squeeze them into a ball.
Then find a loving couple,
and hit them with the worst of them all.

Mix in arguements with screaming
and anguish caused by broken hearts.
Throw in separation of the worst kind,
forcing each one to live far apart.

Take imprisonment and loneliness,
you'll find that both shall weep with despair and cry.
And just for fun add betrayal,
because what can hurt worse than a lie?

See how the man is tormented now?
and his soul seems faded and gray...
Watch how the woman questions her life,
wondering how she can go on another day...

Drifting apart as each day goes on,
neither knows what to do.
Was weeks turn into months, nothing is said,
not even a single "I love you..."

Why didn't they simply give up and turn away
from a relationship completely gone sour?
Because God had put them together for a reason,
and there isn't any resisting His power.

Though the hurdles they lept and the obstacles they surpassed
would have torn any other couple apart...
This man and this woman truly did belong together,
and they survived because of the true love in their hearts.

And when the hardship came to pass
and they felt they couldn't go on any longer,
They held onto their faith and overcame,
each time it only made their love stronger.

Why bother to try so hard with someone
when the road is so rocky, who's the fool?
Well answer me this, through everything they've survived,
can you think of any more deserving to be together than these two?...

Numero Uno!

This beautiful princess is now 1!

Number One
You are one,
Let’s have some fun.
Teddies or blocks,
Where are your socks?

Milk tastes so sweet,
With honey and heat.
Today we will play,
With Sunshine and day.

We wish you the best,
As you grow healthy, no less.
Has it been a year?
We love you our dear.

By Martin Dejnicki

May u grow to become a beautiful person, inside and out, which if you're anything like your parents (and I am sure you are!), I have no doubt you'll be.

Love u, Lea Arryana!

Ever since Puan Wani Ardy blogged about me, and you can read it here, Alhamdulillah...tak menang tangan nak jawab email yang masuk!

Here's a snippet of what she wrote in her blog:

How did she ended up being my favorite make-up artist?
1) She’s patient (but that doesn’t mean you can take advantage of her), she prioritizes your requests/desires (how you want to look), and she charges reasonably.
2) I’ve had her for three separate occasions and she had been consistent with her work.

Sumpah, entry Wani buat saya tersipu malu. Hahaha. It was her and her friends (including the ever so beautiful Cik Along who finally convinced me to start up a blog for my make up portfolio. Sebelum tu jujur, still rasa macam 'saya-budak-baru-belajar'. Sampai skrg pun rasa macam tu juga *____*

And my bestfriend from Singapore blogged about me too! Thanks so much lalink!

Rindu awak ah!

Last but not least, tadi dah cakap pasal Cik Along, kan? Dia punnnn tulis tentang saya juga!

Meh baca kat sini! Thanks dear, you've been a HUGE help to me!

I don't know how to thank you ladies, but trust me, from the bottom of my broken heart (eceh, eceh) jasa baktimu ku kenang selalu!

Korang yang lain, dah tengok blog mekap saya belum?

Tunggu apa lagi?

Kalah untuk Menang

Taken from Agus Kuncoro Adi's twitter account:

"Boleh aja, menganggap apa yang kita pegang adalah sesuatu yang benar...

Tapi tidak seharusnya kita menganggap kita yang paling benar, jadi selalu melihat pendapat yang berbeda dengan kita adalah sesuatu yang salah. Masih banyak kemungkinan di luar sana, dibanding apa saja yang saat ini dikepala kita.

Berani mengalah utk memberikan hasil akhir terbaik...Untuk mengalahpun dibutuhkan keberanian.

Kaya'nya kita udah sepakat kalo utk menjadi pemenang, artinya haruslah mengalahkan orang lain...

Baik dibalas Baik.

Kadang penat, bila kita rasa kita dah beri semampunya pada seseorang bila dia memerlukan, misalnya kalau dia sedih, kita jadi badut sarkis, tong sampah, punching bag, teman curhat...segala macam.

Ok. Bye."

Sebel buanget deh.

Tapi saya ingatkan diri sendiri. Allah maha adil.

And so, I smile.

Sama Tak Serupa

Malaysian Batik is batik textile art of Malaysia, especially on the east coast of Malaysia (Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang). The most popular motifs are leaves and flowers. Malaysian batik depicting humans or animals are rare because Islam norms forbid animal images as decoration. However, the butterfly theme is a common exception. The Malaysian batik is also famous for its geometrical designs, such as spirals.

The method of Malaysian batik making is also quite different from those of Indonesian Javanese batik, the pattern is larger and simpler, it seldom or never uses canting to create intricate patterns and rely heavily on brush painting method to apply colors on fabrics. The colors also tend to be lighter and more vibrant than deep colored Javanese batik.

I know Malaysia has always been accused as a kleptomaniac-nation by Indonesia. Kononnya, kita nak 'claim'.

Of all things that we have might been accused of 'claiming', this is one I would like to clarify.

*shivers*

Entahlah, daripada zaman sekolah, setahu saya, kalau nak memendekkan kata "Congratulations", kita gunakan perkataan "CONGRATS".

Serius tak tahu kenapa huruf 'E' tu muncuk di tengah-tengah! Setelah saya belek, tenung, renung dan bedah, tiada huruf 'E' dalam perkataan 'Congratulations', kan?

Jadi wahai manusia, jangan lah memandai-mandai nak tambah huruf 'E" ditengah-tengah tu, entah datang dari mana-mana tah, sesuka hatiiiiii je eh!

It's Congrats, people. Not Congrates.

nota: kalau susah-susah sangat, cakap je TAHNIAH.

Terima kasih Cah Ayu for sharing the source. Ngehehehe.

Pak Belang

Source: Wikipedia

Macam Harimau Malaya a.k.a Harimau Belang!

Bak kata kawan saya, Cik Soraya, "dannn harimau malaya lg ganas dr segale singa, panther, cheetah afrika!"

Jadi, tolonglah jangan mempolitikkan Sang Rimau. Ini bukan masalah East or West Malaysia. Ini bukan menganaktirikan mana-mana pihak. Kalau google sikit je, you'd know dah nama rimau tu memang Harimau Malaya!

Ini tentang semangat Harimau Malaya. Panthera tigris malayensis, faham?

Akhir kata,

Majulah sukan untuk negara.
