How I did it
Lost about 17 kg in 6 months.
Naturally, people were asking me, "apa kau buat??" "apa rahsianya?" "kau pakai korset ** ke?" dan macam-macam lagi.
Some were kind, some were really nasty about it.
So here's how I did it:
In February, I decided to change my lifestyle. You know, eat healthily, live actively. It all started when a colleague collapsed at work due to stroke. He was merely 40. Kalau tengok dia, memang nampak macam sihat tapi rupanya ada darah tinggi. That's when I thought, okay. Tak boleh jadi ni. I've to start taking care of my health! So the aim wasn't to lose weight, saya cuma nak lebih sihat. Berat badan turun, itu saya anggap satu bonus!
In between February to May, I lost about 10 kg. What I did? I learnt about my daily calorie requirement, and I applied that dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. I joined Jazzercise, pergi gym, run on weekends with my mom, buat kerja rumah, joget dalam kereta...apa2 je lah yang boleh burn more calories!
Then end of May, I got sick. Doctor diagnosed me with hyper-thyroidism. Nothing to do with my change of lifestyle, I think...tapi saya percaya, mungkin when I started living healthily, toxin dalam badan semua keluar, tu yang penyakit dalam badan pun keluar sama. Wallahualam. Seminggu di hospital, 3 kg turun. Orang kat ofis, mulut jahat gila. Menuduh saya masuk hospital sebab overdose ubat kurus. Sampai bertengkar jugak lah lepas saya keluar hospital tu. Geram seh!
Lepas tu I just kept to my routine, with a slight adjustment. I stopped going for Jazzercise (For now. InsyaAllah will go back soon) coz I wasn't sure my heart (fyi hyper-thyroidism causes the heart to beat really fast) could take it. Perlahan-lahan berat badan turun lagi dan lagi, Alhamdulillah!
So now. 17kg lighter. By doing it the hard way. And i believe...it's the ONLY way to do it!
